How to protect the privacy of smart watches? Google gave the answer.

privacy of smart watch-1

Today, when smart watches get rid of the “control” of smartphones, smart watches independently realize the functions of calling, displaying text messages, WeChat and other functions, which has become the general trend. Thinking about going out to run at night, we only need to wear smart watches without worrying about missing phone calls and important messages. Of course, this is very good.

However, while the smart watch brings convenience to users, it inevitably makes people worry about whether the lost smart watch will leak the user’s sensitive information, which is obviously noteworthy. Fortunately, Google’s new patent application will solve the privacy leakage of smart watches to some extent.

According to media MSPoweruser reports, Google recently submitted a new patent application, which not only identifies whether the wearer is the user himself, but also allows the smart watch to determine whether the data is private or public data.

Specifically, when the smart watch recognizes that the current wearer is the user himself, the smart watch will display private information such as SMS, messages and phone calls for the user; if the result is identified as someone other than the user, the smart watch will only provide public data such as weather and time.

At first glance, it really refreshes our understanding. Small smart watches can also “recognized”, which has reached a new height. In fact, it is not surprising that we think about the biometric-based locking system of smartphones and look back at Google’s patent.

Here I would also like to say that the development of technology should not be at the expense of user privacy and security. Although the loss of smart watches is a small probability event, what if? May I ask who wants to expose their daily life to the sun? Therefore, from this point of view, it is necessary to apply for Google’s new patent, but I don’t know when the patent will really be implemented in the wearable device industry?
